With 98 confirmed kills (and many more unconfirmed), Eric ranks among the top snipers in U.S. history. His remarkable 42-year military career (1950-1992) also includes being the 1952 National Rifle Shooting Champion, 1965 Leech Cup Winner, and a 41-year record holder of the Long-Range Shooting Record set at Ft. Benning in 1968. Today, Eric is honored as the 3rd and last Union Countian interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
