Hill, and published by Ivy House Pub Group in 2003, this book tells the story of the once wild child, John Henry Lance, who then later became a preacher and spoke and shared the Word of God before finding himself at the final fate of murder at the hands of 2 brothers who showed no mercy. Charges, guilty verdicts, and prison time for the murderers wouldn’t be enough, however, as 1 son set out on a mission and made a covenant to get revenge. As the story is told throughout the book, much history of the Union County community in which the murder happened and the people that lived in it is told. This includes personal eyewitness accounts of those who claimed to once see Micajah Clark Dyer take flight with his flying machine. This truly is a book worth reading.
